Adjustable wall shelving

Adjustable shelving units for walls that need to keep working

Mestra gives you adjustable shelving units within a made-to-measure wall system. It is for planned rail-based storage, not loose shelf boards, brackets or DIY rack components.

Storage planning

Why adjustable shelving units matter

Fixed shelving units can look right on day one and feel wrong once the room changes. Books, ceramics, records, speakers and work equipment all need different clearances, and a single fixed spacing rarely suits everything.

Mestra is not loose shelf boards or a retail bracket kit. It is a made-to-measure wall-mounted shelving unit with shelf positions planned inside a rail system.

Start an adjustable shelving layout
  • Tall books and display pieces need more vertical clearance.
  • Small objects can waste space when shelves are too far apart.
  • Living rooms and home offices often need to change over time.
  • Hidden storage is still useful when open shelves become too busy.

Mestra approach

How Mestra adjustable wall shelving works

Mestra uses wall-mounted rails with repeated fixing positions. Shelves attach to the rail structure, so you can plan shelf heights inside the system rather than accepting one fixed shelf layout.

The rails and bays still define the framework. Mestra is not infinitely variable, but the open shelving can be arranged more deliberately than a standard fixed unit.

FAQ

Practical questions

Short answers on fit, installation and what Mestra is not trying to be.

Are Mestra adjustable shelving units?

Yes. Mestra shelves can be positioned within the wall-mounted rail system. The rails and bay layout set the framework, so the shelves are adjustable within those system positions rather than infinitely adjustable.

Can I move adjustable wall shelves after installation?

Open shelves are designed around the rail system, but any changes should stay within the installed layout and wall-loading limits. If you plan to change the layout often, ask before ordering.

Can adjustable shelving include cabinets?

Yes. Mestra can combine open shelves with drawer cabinets and door cabinets in the same wall-mounted layout.

Is Mestra an adjustable shelving system?

Mestra is a wall-mounted adjustable shelving system with rails, bays, shelves and optional cabinet modules. It is made to measure within the Mestra system rather than built from scratch as bespoke joinery, and it is not loose shelf boards.

How is adjustable shelving priced?

The configurator shows a live price for instant-priced layouts before you order. Bay widths, rail height, shelf count and cabinet choices all affect the price.

Are adjustable shelves better than fixed shelves?

They are useful when the things you store vary in height or may change over time. Fixed shelves can still be fine for simple, predictable storage.
