We started MESTRA because honest furniture shouldn't be this hard to find.
Most shelving is veneered MDF dressed up to look like something it isn't. A few years in and you're replacing it. We've all been there.
That's the problem we set out to fix.
Who we are
MESTRA was founded in 2025 by Josh, an industrial designer from Norfolk with a degree from Loughborough University — one of the UK's leading design schools. The idea wasn't complicated: make storage from real materials, make it to fit, make it last.
Everything we build is made from real birch plywood. Precision-cut to millimetre accuracy, hand-finished in our workshop. No veneers. No flat-pack laminates. No materials pretending to be something they aren't.

We're transparent about what things are made from, how long they take, and what they cost. Clear pricing, no surprises.
We aim to deliver most systems within six weeks.
What we believe
We think furniture should be worth keeping. So we make it that way.
Our products carry a ten-year warranty and are designed for repairability — not because we expect things to go wrong, but because we expect you to still have your MESTRA system in twenty years. If a panel gets damaged, replace just that panel — not the whole unit. If your needs change, add to the system.
